P1 PTM

Kyle 1st Parent-Teacher Meeting.

I was nervous as this is his 1st since entering P1. His teacher is Ms Jasmine Chia, who initially me and hubby perceived as timid and easy-to-bully because she look so frail and tiny, is actually quite a firm teacher and can manage her class well.

Here are her comments about Kyle:
1. Pleasant, cheerful boy
2. Active and sociable
3. Participates well in class
4. Has leadership skills (apparently, my son is Maths assistant leader for his green group)
5. Tends to get distracted and lose focus of the aims of the group work and team members have to pull him back ;p
6. Generally doing well and above average in the class

Ok, all is well, but hubby was like, only above average? He expected Kyle to be one of the top few. OMG..please don't stress my son!

I was generally happy about the comments, and felt that he deserves ice-cream and a round of his favourite game - Animal Kaiser :) Good job sweetie!

Being More Involved

Love the fact that I have now more free time and can afford to be more involved in my kids' lives.
One example recently I became a parent volunteer for Kyle's class trip to the zoo. I just wanted to be more there for him and to know his friends and also actually to know how he behaves with his friends and teachers :)
Well, from my observations, he is a very sociable and 'not shy'! Very outspoken and likes attention. And very fidgety and cannot keep still. Yup, basically same qualities when he is with us also. No Jekyll and Hyde here :)

I think he enjoys me being there..."eh, this is my Mother, you know", whenever his friends ask me for help :)
Overall, a good experience in a day of Kyle's school life and I really hope to be involved in such events again.

Kyra's Tooth Decay

Last mid-year Kyra kept complaning that her tooth was in pain. After a visit to the dentist, we discovered that Kyra's lower back left and right tooth have decayed! We were quite surprised as she has been brushing regularly. I suspected my maid has not been brushing her teeth properly as she herself has tooth decay issues and does not have proper dental hygiene.

Anyway Kyra has been going to the dentist regularly to have fillings in her tooth. It's important that the decay does not reach the root, or else a tooth extraction is inevitable. So far, thankfully, it has not reached that stage.

She is super brave and never scared to face the dentist.
Sigh..at the moment, her two front teeth is also showing signs of decay, and I am hoping that they will drop out soon for the new tooth to grow.
