Yippieeee!!! I am over the moon and super relieved at this piece of good news :)
What is it? Well, I am happy to announce that my son has gotten a place in that exclusive Bukit Panjang Primary School!!
You may balk at me saying aiyah, so what, it's just a neighbourhood school. What's the big deal, not ACS what! Of course as much as I would like for Kyle to go to a branded school, I have to wake up and realise how hard it is for him to be even granted a place there. After eliminating the parent volunteers, the grassroots members/leaders and the siblings/alumni priority group, there will surely be no places left and even if there are, our chances are low due to balloting.
After doing some research on the internet and talking to moms whose kids are in BPPS already, I realized that it is one of the top neighbourhood primary school in Singapore! They have an excellent PSLE track record, and many parents want their children to be enrolled in that school! Even better, it's within 1km from where I live. Can just walk :)
Of course I was quite dampened initially knowing my chances were not high as we fall into Phase2c. After the initial phases were over, there were only 40 places left. And my heart dropped when 100plus parents apply for balloting.
My friend, Irene also put her daughter's name down, and both of us were praying right up till the end of both of us. She attended the balloting session at BPPS itself. I refused to go for anything that will make me a bundle of nerves.
Imagine my happiness when she smsed me, saying that they just called out Kyle's name :) Lucky number 295. Of course I called the whole world to share the good news :)
And of course this also means that I do not have to worry about Kyra, as she will automatically get into the school under the siblings phase. Alhamdullilah...praises to HIM.
