The Letter "H"

Our favourite letter is "H". It stands for Holidays, Hotels and Hot Fun!! Lol

I love travelling. However, having children means plans are always being revised, replanned, reshelved and reduced (meaning toned down). I think if not for my kids, I would have travelled all around the world. Speaking of which, my mummy left to go Italy recently without me. Boo-hoo!!

But then again, anywhere is fun when you have good company, right? Even when you are travelling in Singapore :)

A staycation is better than nothing, right? :)

I Love Books!

Me and hubby make it a point to cultivate the interest of reading in our kids. It's not only to improve your general knowledge but also good for them to practise recognising words, preparing them for primary school and beyond. It will also cultivate a love for books, which I am extremely in love with :)

Since early this year, we have this practise of going to the library about once a week or once in 2 weeks and borrowing a few books for them. We will read as a family, usually before bedtime. Kyle is already more proficient in reading, thus at times, he will read the book aloud to his sister and us, instead of just me or hubby reading to them.

They love this practise and would usually pester us to read to them, especially Kyra. She likes the dramatic reading I usually do, hehe.

Nowadays we have even taken a step further. We made the kids, more of Kyle actually, to do a book review. We ask him to identify the difficult words he is unsure of and we go through with him the spelling as well as the meaning. We also ask him to draw and colour the part of the book he likes best and sometimes, we also have spelling test for words found in the book.

It's great fun reading as a family!

The Deep Scary Sea

Now that the kids are older, I am more confident in letting them play in the waters at the beach. Even then, I am still only allowing them to just play near the shore and not go into the waters completely.

I just have this phobia of them drowning and disappearing into the deep sea. After reading so many stories and cases of children dying and being swept away by the currents in the ocean, I just do not dare take the risk of letting them even play near the water.

My eyes never leave them as they play with the water and the sand at the beach.

Unlike someone! Tsk Tsk...

Disney On Ice

Some pics taken at the Disney on Ice show.

Started off with the Little Mermaid The Lion King Interval Mickey & Friends! Thumbelina Finale
We missed the Cars appearance because we were late. Kyle was quite upset because it is his favourite cartoon movie.

But it was a very colourful and magical show...the kids were captivated.Me and hubby were just stunned at the prices of the toys on sale!! LOL
