Turning Six

I cannot believe we are celebrating his 6th birthday :) Where did all these years go?

Homework, homework, homework..

Since school term started, me and hubby have been putting in effort to teach the kids at night. We both feel that just by them attending school, it's never enough to prepare them when they go to P1 and beyond. They need extra one-to one study sessions.

So nowadays the routine after we arrive home from work is bathe, eat, then sit down for an hour and go through Maths and English assessment books with the both of them. Hubby teaches Kyle, while I concentrate on Kyra.

Kyle is quite self-motivated, so its quite easy after he grasps the concept and wants to continue on his own. Kyra, on the other hand still need lots of guidance and she tends to lose focus quite fast. But of course, we parents must never give up and perservere for their sake :)

It's tiring, I must admit, after a long day in the office, and I have contemplated sending them to the tuition centre. But finances are tight, and as hubby explained, as parents, we are the best source of information and motivation for them. So I am determined to go through this with him for our children.

Kyle is crazy about slides. Water slides, to be specific. He can go down the slide countless of times and never gets tired of it. Here are some videos of him happily sliding away.

Back to School!

It's back to school!!

K1 Tulip for Kyra and K2 Lily for Kyle. So fast, right?? Next year PI for Kyle already.

Both are now in the same centre, just a block away from their grandparents' house.

Just realised that Kyra is not that small after all! Some of her classmates in K1 are also small just like her. In fact, some of Kyle's classmates are of Kyra's size! Hehe :)

Kyra has also joined KidsAlive this year.

So far so good, no cries yet. Happy and smiling :) Still masak-masak period izit. Wait till Malay lessons start hehe!

Kyle's 1st New Tooth

My prince recently lost his 1st tooth! Yes, actually he lost 2 teeth, within a span of 2 weeks. The tooth was already quite loose and I was comtemplating sending him to the dentist to pluck it out. But I still remember my dad pulling all our loose tooth out and us not having to waste money at the dentist.

I suggested this to Kyle, and although he seemed a little hesitant but he went ahead with it. My brave boy! He did not even flinched when his atok pulled out his tooth.
