Just Us

Just Us

My girl recently turned 4. Yup, that little makcik kenit is 4 years old. To be fair, she has grown taller, but still skinny and still refusing to eat well. Very choosy, especially when it comes to rice and vegetables. Give her pizza and spagetthi and she will swallow even the plate.

We had a small celebration at home with just the family. But prior to that, we took her and her Bibik who also turned a year older on the very same date, to Universal Studios.

Some pics of the cake-cutting ceremony

Lady Diana or Queen Elizabeth?

Anything pink will do for her. Thus the cake was very much well-received by this little kenit, even though her brother protested, saying that a character cake would be nicer.

We had a great time at Universal Studios. One day is not enough! I think we'll go again for Kyle's birthday hehe...cos by that time, got bonus already! Freaking expensive hokay..
I still think she is my baby, no matter how old she is.

Compliments

My son is terribly generous with compliments :)

He loves to dish out all the right words whenever he sees us wearing something nice or new. For example, if I was wearing a new dress, he would go, Wahhh mama, you look so beautiful with your new dress OR if I just had a haircut, he would go, Wahhhh mama, you look so pretty with your new hair :)

Same goes for any other family member, he would compliment his aunt on her bling-bling slippers or compliment his grandma on her new baju kurung. His daddy always gets the "handsome" compliment and Kyle looks up to him so much that he must wear whatever his daddy is wearing, be it a watch or a belt or long jeans :)

Even when sometimes I get insecure and ask him why does he love me, he would reply, cos Mama is so pretty and beautiful..and I like Mama...

Hmmm....I hope this is not a sign of him growing up to be shallow and not seeing what's underneath. But it definitely feels great to receive accolades from such a young person like that.

My daughter, though is not quite like that. She picks and chooses whether that person deserves to be complimented. She would reply "Not Nice" if it is not to her liking, which can be brutally honest. Not like her brother who is all good and sweet, even when we look like crap.

She would comment that I cannot wear a certain dress and I should choose another etc. Sigh...so small and oredi so critical! Haha...future fashion critic?
