This year we just planned to drive up, eat, shop and enjoy the atmosphere of Hari Raya Haji there.
We could not get our favourite Mahkota Parada Hotel (fully booked) so we had to settle for Everly Resort. Our apartment has 2 bedrooms. 4 families. Squeeze!!
But the Everly Resort is still quite lovely and is just right next to the sea. You can get seafood stalls selling ikan bakar at the sides of the roads nearby the hotel. There are also fresh fruits and even stalls selling the famous Malaccan belachan :)
Just one complaint. It was raining throughout our stay there! I love the rain but not when I am holidaying. It just ruin our plans, such as to walk on the beach or swim in the sea. I managed to get the kids to the hotel pool for an hour before its started raining again.
Getting ready to go for a splash!

We also drove up to Mahkota Parada Shopping Centre. Got myself a pair of gold platform shoes :) Just RM29.
At the shopping area

As per every year, we visited my aunt's house. She is my dad's eldest sister and she cooks the most delicious authentic Malaccan dishes.
Relaxing at her house
2nd day: Going to my uncle's house to see the korban (sacrificial process of the cows/lambs)

Kyle was feeling eeky also. As the villagers were cutting up the meat, he was almost scared to move, saying'There got so much blood!" and refused to come near the butchering area. Instead, he went to the rabbits' cage and fed them grass.

It was just a short one night trip but we certainly enjoyed ourselves despite the rain. Just one word of advice, never ever go back to Singapore on the last day of the holiday before work starts. Everyone had the same idea and we were all stuck at immigration for 2-hour plus! I hate jams!
